How DotGitIgnore Generates Clean .gitignore Files

What is a .gitignore file?

A .gitignore file tells Git which files and directories should not be tracked in version control. It prevents build outputs (dist/, target/), package caches (node_modules/, .venv/), local secrets (.env), and OS metadata (.DS_Store) from polluting commit logs.

How to Use Your Generated .gitignore
